Who We Cover

Who Cyclesure Ireland cover...

The Leisure Cyclist - 80,000 bicycles were sold in Ireland in 2007.
A more recent Halfords survey (Aug 09’) states a figure of just over 1 million people aged 15 to 64 in Ireland own a bike! So a quarter of the population owns a racer, a mountain bike, a dirt jump bike, a road bike or a town bike! Now that is a lot of bikes!

The Commuter /Bike to Work – Cycling is a healthy and sustainable way of commuting to work or just travelling around the town or city and can often be quicker than driving a car over shorter distances in the congested inner city streets, yellow lines and clampers needn't concern you! Motorists would not think of getting in their car without motor insurance yet how many regular cyclists have cycle insurance?

The Club Cyclist – there are a staggering 270 cycling clubs registered in Ireland with over 6,000 members who take their cycling very seriously indeed.

The Tri –athlete – Triathlons enjoyed a huge surge in popularity recently – in fact membership to Triathlon Ireland shot up to 4,000 members in 2009, from 600 in 2004. Over 14,000 people of all ages, gender and ability participated in a triathlon in 2009.The target for 2010 is 20,000 participants

Maybe this recession is inspiring us to get out there and challenge ourselves like never before – so can we thank the current Government for the latest tri-athlete boom?
